It is with a bittersweet sadness that I ask you to again welcome another new Sister, texaswildflower.
My heart just aches every time I see a new member, but another part of me rejoices in the fact that they will at least have the benefit of truthful information, rather than being counseled that they are co-dependent and somehow responsible for ‘choosing’ a Sex Addict.

So sorry for the reason you are here, but please feel right at home. This is a terrible thing to have happen to us, but we lean on each other and help each other survive. You will feel better just having made friends here.

This site is a wonderful resource! JoAnn has included links, interviews, book reviews and editorials. My favorite part is the forums because the sisters have such great insight and are so compassionate. I hope you find it useful. It has kept me sane at times.

Thanks all the welcomes. Although I fought the porn off and on for years I was sooo manipulated thinking it was not as bad as it was. Didn’t realize the “mean” person he was was the addiction until the last year or so. Never would have thought his mind was in the gutter every second of our marriage. He had me so fooled. He was really good and still is very good at fooling people. IQ put’s him almost at genius. How can any normal person be on a level ground with that? Terri I am just about 45 minutes north of Houston.
T I’m so glad you have found us. From what I gather most of the SA’s are very intelligent and successful. I can tell you that the women on this site are no fools. They might feel foolish because they were deceived so easily but that does not make one unintelligent. You are equal to your SA in intellect but you are a trusting person which makes you no match to a deceitful character. Welcome to the sisterhood. xox Catherine

My STBX fools everyone, too. That can really hard to deal with and made it easier for him to gaslight me. And Catherine is right, they do take advantage of our trust. That doesn’t make you stupid. It makes them jerks.

Welcome to this site. i remember the day I felt i needed support for myself and found this amazing site. I have been married for 27 years to a SA. Also a very nice guy I might add. I discovered, then forgave, the lived with hope, only to find this was not going to work. Yep it took me a very long time… I think it’s taking him even longer to realise that I am so serious about ending this marriage which demanded my giving of myself all of the time. The divorce process too is draining but at least I know I am moving in the right direction this time. Take care Tex.Hi TWF. Welcome to the Sisterhood. We were ALL fooled my dear and you will soon find most of us are anything but stupid. You cannot imagine how many of us were /are married to the “greatest guy on earth” and we are all well acquainted with their superb ability to con the outside world. Not to fear. We have a few tricks of our own for dressing down these charlatans. Glad you found us. He will be sorry you did.

Welcome TWF – I can so relate, as can every other sister on here. I’m incredibly sorry that you’re going through this hell too. You’ll have a lot of reading to do with all the sisters’ posts but let me recommend “In Sheep’s Clothing” by Dr. George Simon. I think it will bring you a lot of insight into your husband and how he has been manipulating you.
Welcome twf I am so sorry you landed here. We are all in the same unfortunate boat. You will find lots of love and support here and you will be amazed at how similar (and crazy) our sa’s are. be kind to yourself right now, this is his screw up, not yours.
