A real life story

my sister in law shared a true story with me.

She was born in the Phillipines. One of her close girlfriends growing up came to states to go to college. She was from a wealthy family. She fell in love with the pizza guy. Italian guy from NJ. Not educated. They eloped. He quickly became abusive — they had 2 kids.

This girl had plans for working in Washington DC. Had internship with important office there. He hated her status her success. Treated her like crap. spit on her. abused and controlled.

Parents very angry. Did not like marriage. Came to visit them some time later in their dumpy hovel of an apartment. They were HORRIFIED. They bought a house down the street. told her not to tell him. it would be her safe place. she started staying there.

One day after an abusive episode. the parents had a chat with her H. they paid him 40,000 to go away. He did.

She moved back to Phillipines with Parents. She was 42. 2 kids. thought, this is it. life’s over.

Met a wonderful man, a good deal older than her. He LOVED her at first glance. Treats her like gold. They are married and happy. And she speaks out to women about abuse/ domestic violence.
