What is the meaning of life? All interpretations welcome.
September 11, 2012 at 8:00 pm #51941daisy1962MemberI wish I could help. My brain is too tired. And I have to find the strength to brush my teeth and have dinner with a friend who knows nothing about what I’m going through. Maybe tomorrow…
Love you NAP! Sorry. : (

September 11, 2012 at 9:09 pm #51942hadj608ParticipantI hope someone knows nap! I keep asking myself what is the point of it all? I have lost all sense of direction.
September 11, 2012 at 9:14 pm #51943harmony1Participantdifficult question to answer,
to me now a days the meaning of life is centered around my children, they are the ones who give meaning to my life with their laughs, fights, hugs, and saying I love you mommy, you are the best,,,that is giving a great meaning to my life
a great purpose to be there for them to teach them to guide them on how to grow healthy, happy and well balanced,,, and to love them forever with no conditions
September 11, 2012 at 9:22 pm #51944laststraw76ParticipantHarmony, I agree with you about my little ones, but I now also live with a 16 year old son, who, in all honesty, acts like an asshole much of the time. I so hope he isn’t the meaning of life!!! Me: Jack, how was your day? Jack: I don’t want to talk to you. Jack: Pick me up from football practice and give me 5 dollars. Me: I don’t want to.
Oh joy of joys! Please let there be more to life than this!!!September 11, 2012 at 9:23 pm #51945teriParticipantI think it’s a Monty Python movie.
September 11, 2012 at 9:25 pm #51946laststraw76ParticipantHehehehehehe…it is I think
September 11, 2012 at 9:42 pm #51947972MemberMany species eat their young… Maybe to avoid dealing with teenagers ?? 🙂
Hang in there, it passes!September 11, 2012 at 9:46 pm #51948artemisMemberNap, this is what you consider a “simple” question?! EEEK! I am scared to hear what the hard ones might be. 😉
September 11, 2012 at 9:57 pm #51949napParticipantI know, it baffles me too.
September 11, 2012 at 10:01 pm #51950napParticipantRemember Benny Hill, he seemed to know something, I used to watch him with my girlfriends Mom in high school. We laughed ALOT and if you noticed, he never said anything.
September 11, 2012 at 10:05 pm #51951hadj608ParticipantGod makes teenagers obnoxious so you can be happy when they move out!!
College kids are so much more fun! They need money, they think you are smart again, and you don’t have to police them like in high school.
September 11, 2012 at 10:09 pm #51952972MemberI think life means what you make it mean. Nothing really has any meaning unless you assign it meaning yourself… Best i can do Nap 🙂
September 11, 2012 at 10:13 pm #51953napParticipantBev,
I think you are right. It’s what has meaning to us. I like that very much.
Love, NapSeptember 11, 2012 at 10:15 pm #51954napParticipantRegarding eating our young, how do you know which one to eat?
September 11, 2012 at 10:16 pm #51955napParticipantHeidi,
Are all your kids gone now or do you still have one at home?September 12, 2012 at 12:17 am #51956tothestarsParticipant…life is doing what makes you happy WITHOUT hurting others. For me it is traveling the world and putting my own life in perspective and being grateful for what I have despite of what I don’t have. Living the life my mom would’ve wanted me to live and to be happy (my mom died young).
September 12, 2012 at 12:37 am #51957cbslifeMemberThe meaning of life?
No fucking idea.
September 12, 2012 at 2:41 am #51958daisy1962MemberNAP, regarding which young you eat – whichever one is annoying you the most at that moment and then work your way up the food chain. It does get better – once they leave the nest. I’m still waiting for one of mine to say “You’re right Mom.” That will be my lifetime achievement award.
September 12, 2012 at 2:43 am #51959hadj608ParticipantI still have one daughter at home. she is a senior. And I have one in college that is back and forth a lot.
I also have a hippy chick candle, a macintosh #37 and Myrtle perfume.
I smell like you nap!!
September 12, 2012 at 3:48 am #51960teriParticipantMy daughter tells me I’m right all the time. She says “Remember when you told me….you were right. I should have listened to you!” And then, without missing a beat, she will disregard any current advice I offer.
September 12, 2012 at 3:51 am #51961teriParticipant1.
the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.
2.
the sum of the distinguishing phenomena of organisms, especially metabolism, growth, reproduction, and adaptation to environment.
3.
the animate existence or period of animate existence of an individual: to risk one’s life; a short life and a merry one.
4.
a corresponding state, existence, or principle of existence conceived of as belonging to the soul: eternal life.
5.
the general or universal condition of human existence: Too bad, but life is like that.September 12, 2012 at 4:56 am #51962dianeParticipantThe meaning of life, for me, is in the belly laugh of God.
September 12, 2012 at 11:21 am #51963deboraParticipantFunny Teri. Sounds like the teacher on Ferris Buellers Day Off.
As for, “Your’e right, Mom,” y daughter asks my opnion or advice. She does the opposite. It goes sour. She comes back for help crying, “Why didnt you TELL me?” Repeat this scenario often.
September 12, 2012 at 11:30 am #51964teriParticipantI get that, too, Deborah. Or “Why didn’t you MAKE me (do something)?”
Kids crack me up!
My meaning of life? Just this once, the atoms that make up your body have come together to make you and give you this moment as a living, conscious, breathing human. It is up to you to recognize that gift and make what you can of it.
