ParticipantOkay so I was reading through posts tonight and some things I read made me think to share.
One thing was about believing people when they tell you who they are and another was about robotic disclosure.
This reminded me that when my D nightmare began 3 months ago my H kept telling me that I didn’t love HIM because I didn’t KNOW the real him. He said that since he was a child he learned how to tell people what they wanted to hear and do what he needed to do to get people to like him. He said everything I knew of him was just a facade. He then said that he is just like the song from a late 90’s group called “CAKE” and the song is “Hem of your garment”. Now I have always loved this group and we listen to their music regularly to this day. I never paid attention to the lyrics of this song so I went and looked them up. Needless to say I got a little creeped out when I realized what the song was speaking about and thinking back to the countless # of times my H sang this song to me in the car. HE KNEW what it meant but it was over my head at that time. I copied the lyrics below and hopefully below that is a link to youtube to hear the song. The lyrics are simple and repetitive but it hits the nail on the head…….
I am intrinsically no good
I have a heart that’s made of wood
I am only biding time
Only reciting memorized lines
And I’m not fit to touch
The hem of your garmentNo, no I’m not fit to touch the hem of your garment
I have no love, but only goals
How very empty is my soul
It is a soul that feels no thrill
A soul that could easily kill
And I’m not fit to touch
The hem of your garmentNo, no I’m not fit to touch the hem of your garment
I am intrinsically no good
I have a heart that’s made of wood
I am only biding time
Only reciting memorized lines
And I’m not fit to touch
The hem of your garmentI am intrinsically no good
I have a heart that’s made of wood
I am only biding time
Only reciting memorized lines
And I’m not fit to touch
The hem of your garmentNo, no I’m not fit to touch the hem of your garment

Participantmushirc – I am really concerned about the part of the song that says, “A soul that could easily kill” That is the worst part, bbut an empy soul? Your h is disturbed. Be careful! Don’t take any chances with this guy.

ParticipantGee that’s creepy how he told you this befoe you knew. When he says what he is, I’d believe him. He seems not ashamed at all and this is me, like it or lump it. Seems like a sociopath….or a GIANT ASSHOLE. I think I’d burn all the pantyhose and put them in an urn for him. Then RUN like hell!!!

ParticipantHoly crap Michele. That is scary, and I’d be gone
Whether he is or not what is implied by the lyrics, he believes he is which is essentially the same
Don’t walk. Run!!!!

ParticipantI say this As I am watching 20/20 about a husband who killed his wife over a woman he met online
Kicked his daughters out of home shortly after death. The older girls.
So fricking scaryJuly 14, 2012 at 8:50 pm #43626kmf

ParticipantWhy do people think these men can recover?? I thought this was going to be a thread about songs for us! 🙂 My entry would be “Stand Back Up” by Sugarland. I like to crank that when my SAH plays one of his “you’re the crazy one” moves.
