Thinking of all you sisters on the other side of the Atlantic in your freezing polar vortex… Stay safe!
Thinking of you sisters in the southern hemisphere in your ridiculously hot summer… Stay safe!
We are just wet and windy in England – have no TV cos the aerial was blown off the side of the house but at least we are dry and safe indoors!
Love to you all x
January 6, 2014 at 11:20 pm #122415dianeParticipantWe’re okay, but elsewhere we hear there are warnings about “flesh freezes in Xnumbers of minutes”.
Just think of all those weenies out there, exposed! I wonder if there are special vans going out to help SA’s dealing with frostbite and pricksicles.
January 6, 2014 at 11:25 pm #122416jos1972ParticipantEw!!! Still – it would give them a valid reason to fixate on it – watching it turn black and drop off, or indeed die and have to be amputated. Would that really happen?
Bless
January 6, 2014 at 11:51 pm #122417cbslifeMemberIt’s 70 degrees in central California and we are experiencing drought conditions.
Please send your rain here and some wind would be nice, too!
January 7, 2014 at 12:16 am #122418caligirlMemberIn Chicago and it’s freezing!!! School was closed today and again tomorrow.. I may lose my mind..oh wait..I already lost it
January 7, 2014 at 12:20 am #122419teriParticipantIt barely got above freezing for us today. And the houses in our planned urban development here just outside of Houston tend to be very drafty and poorly sealed. With that and the tile floors, it’s pretty doggone cold!
Y’all still use antenna in the UK, Jos? We watch almost everything online these days at our house. And we are jealous that you all are getting new Sherlock before us.
January 7, 2014 at 12:38 am #122420daisy1962MemberIt’s -12 degrees F here and the HIGH tomorrow is 0 F! Coldest temperatures in 20 years. I’m hunkered down with the puppies. 🙂
January 7, 2014 at 12:43 am #122421lizaParticipantSounds like a 3 Dog Night, Daisy. 😉
January 7, 2014 at 12:49 am #122422972MemberI decided to pretend it was hot and have a cold beer 🙂
Public schools are closed here. My kids have to go tomorrow!!!!
I love them but good lord I will be so glad for peace tomorrow.
January 7, 2014 at 12:58 am #122423daisy1962MemberActually, a six dog night Liza! 😀 And Bev, I’m ready for my daughter to go back to college – she actually said that she thinks we need more dogs! Uh no. 🙂
January 7, 2014 at 1:02 am #122424teriParticipantCertainly she was being sarcastic, Daisy?
January 7, 2014 at 1:19 am #122425desiree-larsonMemberPricksickles – new word for dictionary
Definition? Hmmmmmm
I like the idea of gangrene of the dick.
January 7, 2014 at 2:32 am #122426tmp271MemberFrozen here in Pennsylvania. Makes me want to stay in and cuddle with my puppies. I’m grateful for a warm apartment and a good book. I’ll unpack some more when it gets warmer outside. My garage is full of stuff from moving but too cold to go in there right now. Brrrrrr
January 7, 2014 at 3:54 am #122427trishParticipantLeft my apt. for my new job this morning and it was 70. Left the hospital at 5 and it was 42. Supposed to be single digits in the morning so schools are on a 2 hr delay. Crazy – anyone remember General Hospital back in the 80’s and the crazy weather Luke and Laura had?
January 7, 2014 at 4:29 am #122428juniemoonParticipantHere in balmy Toronto the “high” tomorrow is expected to be minus 25 degrees celsius (minus 13 fahrenheit) yes you heard me right, with the wind chill to be minus 40 celsius which is MINUS FOURTY fahrenheit! Damn! I am not driving my son to school tomorrow! We are staying in, lounging in bed and watching trashy tv and surfing online and drinking hot chocolate. This weather is inhumane. The winter from hell! Will it ever end? The freaking ice storm and now this?
