Hi All,
I see many of us are trying to change careers or live dreams.I saw betrayed is going to school for addiction counseling online, Diane is going to take a few months off and write, I am trying as well to focus on a new path to a rewarding career; not sure what that is yet.
But I thought this could be a place where we can share ideas of how we accomplished something, ideas that we are in process of, and so on.

When I got my first divorce I had about 60 credits under my belt and many of the colleges I researched were basically going to make me start over from scratch. At a job interview I learned about Charter Oak State College here in CT. It is a state school like UConn and you can take credits from any school and convert them into credits there. So lets say you want to get a degree in psychology. If you have a school near you you can take them on campus there, and charter oak will accept those courses; and convert them into a degree. Whereas many colleges want you to take the courses in your major from them and will not accept any credits from other schools. They also offer many classes online themselves and many degrees can be obtained from them. they are a State shool and are fully accredited. I obtained the associates degree from them and my bachelors in business admin. Having kids I did a blend on on campus courses at local community colleges, took some other online courses at other schools in other states, and courses through them ti get my final degree. I like this because it allowed me to still work fulltime, parent the kids, and do course work on my own time.
Now I am looking onto the next phase and trying to get a job i will actually enjoy and give back to society in some way. I hopeing by sharing we might be able to help others out, and get some new ideas ourselves. i am looking at a satruday program in industrial organization psychology. So it would be on campus and the provide the books, breakfast and lunch. The only catch is i miss satruday from 8:30 to 3;30 with my kids. the program runs 22 months. Still undecided.
My intent with my bachelors degree in business admin, is more the management side versus finance side (i do more finance right now, and i am bored out of my mind). My current boss has offerred me a good deal if I can get a designation i could be partner, i would love to run the business and i think i would be good at it; but not sure if i will make it in the meatime.
Being the soul breadwinner these employment decisions are very important as I gotta make more momey withion the next couple years and i get tired of living paycheck to paycheck.
