Lisa Ling Investigates: The Secret World of Amateur Adult Video
As many as 40 million Americans are regular visitors to adult websites, helping to make Internet adult entertainment a multi-billion dollar business. Now, amateur adult video is emerging as a viable money-making venture for both singles and couples from the comfort of their own homes, and in the premiere of the cable series, Our America with Lisa Ling, journalist Lisa Ling goes inside this secret world. Friday, she joins Dr. Phil to disclose her findings. Then, meet Tyler, 24, and Berkley, 21, a young married couple with a 2-year-old daughter, who say they’re proud of their XXX-rated career choice. They say their pay-per-view website provides them with ample income, a nice home and a good quality of life for their family, and they don’t have any regrets. But are there long-term ramifications they’re not considering? How can their choices now, potentially impact their daughter’s life in the future? Then, Kayla, 24, says she was devastated when she learned her father made a living making adult videos — so much so that it severed their relationship. Hear her words of caution for Tyler and Berkley. And, is online adult entertainment addictive? Kailey says she gave her husband, Ashton, an ultimatum: his Internet sex activities or their family. Ashton says he’s struggling to stop his compulsion to look at sex online and fears it’s going to destroy his marriage. What does Dr. Phil think? Warning: this episode contains strong sexual content. Viewer discretion is advised.October 10, 2011 at 12:12 am #20164zumbagirlMemberOh boy; major trigger for me. I have it tivo’d. Not sure if I should watch or not…
October 10, 2011 at 1:59 am #20165readytoliveagainParticipantI’m not sure I can watch it, but I’ll tivo it and see. He raked a young married woman over the coals in one show I watched part of last week for telling her that she had essentially deceived her husband by changing her look (she originally was brunette, went blonde for a few years–which was when she met her husband–then went back brunette, because she felt it better suited her.) after marriage. He, the husband, was constantly scanning, looking at other women. And the entire audience was made to answer the question “has any of your husbands ever checked out another woman?” Of course, they all said yes. She was humiliated and crushed on national tv. I was furious at him. He completely dismissed her feelings and made her feel about 1/2″ tall.
Her feelings ARE important. I don’t care what she did to her hair. No one should have to live like that. Damn Dr. Phil.
I’ve always liked Lisa Ling. I’m wondering what her take on this is and if it will be shown.

I mean why do we have to have a talk show episode discussing whether it’s a good thing or not to post personal sex videos and sell the privilege to view it?
Has everyone lost the capacity for human intimacy between two people?October 10, 2011 at 5:52 am #20167lexieParticipantHi Diane,
I was just rereading your sage words to me. It really helps.
Was that a rhetorical question?
If not, then the answer, I believe is, “pretty much yes.” I mean, after all, we’ve gotten to the point where nobody even actually TALKS face to face, anymore…I just learned that “in person”, means on email or on the phone. lol
But what happened to eye contact and body language, voice, tone, and all of the beautiful subtleties there are, to human interaction? And we’re not even talking about sex here… just normal human live, in real-time– communication.
We’re becoming a nation of robots, in just about every way. If we DON’T respond to an email or a text within a few hours, we’re deemed unresponsive, rude, uncaring, etc. God forbid, we lose a hard-drive, or our cable goes down.
Life ceases to exist.
I don’t know about you, but I find the idea of that notion to be, really scary.

Yes society is shifting in a way, and not for the good i think. How would it be okay that the two parents are making sex videos? The tow year old will eventually grow up!! And what happens when a neighbor is a favorite fan of the parents videos or a teacher? There faces are on the web. I think its all nasty and in no way a credible, gratifying or respectful. What happens when wifey starts to look old….ya know older than 25…their following will go way down. There is nothing right about it.
I would be surprised if dr. phil would condone this. I beleive he has said in the past that porn does not belong in a marriage. Maybe his views have changed. This situation is messed up for the daughter. Ok so you are not supposed to have porn in the house, but its okay if mommy and daddy are in the movie….which is broadcast all over the world. Makes me want to puke.
Anyway, thats it.
Love
