We deserve it!Btw. Speaking of valentines day. My Sah was out of town sun-tonight for 4th interview w a company(fingers crossed). And left me a card on my pillow before leaving. Very sweet and thoughtful. So felt I should at least pick up a card on way home from work today
let me tell u 2 things that struck me.
1. it is pretty difficult to find an indifferent valentines card. Although he’s doing really well, I was feeling pretty tired and disconnected today
2. Dear lord, check the price of the card before u buy
after finally finding an ok card for the occassion, I went to ring it up not expecting the $7 price tag. Are u kidding me???If it wouldn’t have taken me so long to pik it out I would have left it on the counter and walked out

And Anna- Amen!! I hadn’t thought about it since D day… But for at least the last 5 years, it took me extra long to pic out SA’s cards! (any occasion)….Now I know why! The lovey, dovey ones just didn’t work for us! Well…. DUH! Of course, I wasnt gonna get him anything sappy or romantic or full of love…it would have been redic, based on the nature of our, ahem, relationship! It just didn’t “fit”…. So I was always searching out the funny ones, you know, making fun of his [lack of] driving skills, his refusal to ask for directions, etc…. Sigh…. Of course, it all makes sense NOW! But how sad…. 🙁
Oh well! My real charm and personality got to shine thru this year- with gifts for my son and my new BF! Hell, I bought the BF 3 cards because I loved them ALL!! What a difference a REAL man makes!! 🙂 (and a REAL relationship) It wasn’t hard work at all!! 🙂Dear All,
Well this has been a very odd Valentine day all around. First received a spectacular bouquet of red roses from H with TEDDY BEAR Attached no less. Almost died of fright until read the card…then almost had a stroke. How much he missed me, how much he wished he was here, have a wonderful day and all his love??? Was like being in an alternate universe that didn’t include limitless hookers in my bed?? Anyway…I really wanted to prove to myself that Valentines is just another day and I could change it up so I asked my sister to be my Valentine and took her out for a good meal paid for by my H and we had a good time. Then we went back to her house , ate dessert and listened to her 16 yr old son’s ( a right brat) version of love and I came away thinking he could teach my husband and her’s a lesson or two about respect and how to win a woman over. Not a bad day at all….all in all. 🙂 Karen xx
