ParticipantJust got back from my cardiologist. He had me on a Holter monitor last week. I wore it when I went to copa meeting. My heart rate during the meeting was 167 bpm. I’m sure it’s higher when I have to interact with dr. evil.

MemberWhat would a normal heart rate be Teri? That sounds scary high to me.
April 25, 2013 at 10:39 pm #88751teri
ParticipantNormal for me is around 80 bpm.

Participant“During a panic attack, also called an anxiety attack, you may notice that your heart is pounding very quickly. A normal heart rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute, depending on your activity level, age and overall health, but during a panic attack, it may beat from 8 to 20 more beats per minute. For example, if your normal heart rate is 80 bpm, during a panic attack, you may experience a heart rate between 88 and 100 beats per minute. This sensation can be alarming, but most of the time it will resolve on its own with a half hour.

So I guess it’s not a panic attack…

Participant167 is pretty high
Since Teri can’t drink now thanks to Dr. E, maybe HE should be sedated prior to interactions, so her heart is not at undue risk.

MemberGod….that is high. I am sure if I was in his physical presence, mine would be similar. 🙁

MemberThat is bad for your age Teri. I didn’t even get to that running on the treadmill yesterday for 40 minutes. You must have been under awful stress and I’m sorry for that. Shame you weren’t burning calories at the same time (not that you need to).
What did the doctor suggest you do?April 26, 2013 at 12:10 am #88759teri
ParticipantHe had to go because he had a patient crash and need hospitalization. He is supposed to call tomorrow with some treatment options.
He didn’t want to put me on anything 24/7 if I only need it for half on hour on Saturdays and once a month for coparenting meetings. So he was thinking of some as needed options.
I have a history of arrythmias and have had part of my heart burned out. So I try to stay on top of it when something seems off. My heart problems started with a dday- when I found out dr. evil was having a secret relationship (he called it an emotional affair) the same week that my mother died.

ParticipantI see a medical “material change of circumstance”, does anyone else? Not that anyone wants to redraw this from scratch, but couldn’t contact be limited now? Legally?
April 26, 2013 at 12:14 am #88761teri
ParticipantI asked about that but said that I wasn’t having any life-threatening arrythmia so they couldn’t give me a “doctor’s note” to get out of contact or meetings.

Member10 cans of Red Bull at once should get you what you need from the doctor Teri. 😉

MemberWould a Xanax help. Not that you should have to be drugged to get through this and I’m not even sure what it does except others have mentioned it helps with anxiety. Can you take it and still drive safely?
April 26, 2013 at 12:25 am #88765teri
ParticipantI know. I was kinda hoping.
The only way out of this torment is death, apparently. And it ain’t going to be mine! 🙂

ParticipantThat’s a good question, Catherine. I told him I needed something that doesn’t make me fuzzy-headed because one place that I have trouble is mediation and when we go to court, and I need to be sharp for that.
I think I remember some of the sisters saying Xanax makes them sleepy?
Another option is beta blockers but my blood pressure is low so I would be passing out.
April 26, 2013 at 12:28 am #88767allcat62
MemberWell Dr E won’t be dying of any heart problem and we all know why.

MemberWhere is Lorena Bobbitt when you need her?
April 26, 2013 at 1:33 am #88770lynng2
ParticipantXanax does make me very sleepy. My doc took me off it.
April 26, 2013 at 1:33 am #88771972
MemberI have been able to take a xanax ( the lowest dose made) and half it and be fine ( not sleepy or fuzzy) just calmer….
My mom has some and my neighbor does too. I can’t remember the dosage but it was low and I halved them….

MemberYou don’t need a script for Maker’s Mark….
That’s my solution when I need to be calmed down 😉
April 26, 2013 at 11:17 am #88773teri
ParticipantI had to google Maker’s Mark, fornow.
I could just see the look on the judge’s face if I pulled out a bottle of bourbon in court!
