Take his credit cards away while he is sleeping. He will wreck your finances before he goes away for his little ‘vacation’.
Honestly Claire, I don’t know how you stop yourself from making dog food out of him.
December 14, 2013 at 9:01 pm #119880cbslifeMemberHe put the charge on his business card, but as a married couple in California and his business is a sole proprietorship, I’m not sure if I’m jointly responsible for that or not.
I was a bookkeeper, but I never wanted anything to do with taxes, now I wish I had. At least I would be more knowledgable. I guess I’ll be calling the CPA I used to work for to get some clarification (and see if she needs any help, maybe she’ll give me a job!).
He told me last night, and I wondered why he was telling me this, but he said his best friend was talking to a mutual friend of theirs that has property and that he might be willing to let H put his 5th wheel there. I guess I now know why he told me that. Why can’t he just give me the whole story, what’s with this bits and pieces of shit??????? Does he get a kick out of making me figure it out??????
And yes, I do want to make something out of him JoAnn, but I sure wouldn’t feed it to my precious dogs. They are much too good for that kind of crap.
December 14, 2013 at 9:04 pm #119881teriParticipantHe is such an idiot.
December 14, 2013 at 9:55 pm #119882courtneyParticipantTerrible! He underestimates you time after time. I am going to pray every day between now and Thursday that the judge sends him to prison.
December 14, 2013 at 10:21 pm #119883972MemberI still think he is crazy and in denial which makes him dangerous.
He is a rabid, cornered animal.
Be careful Claire. Just let him ramble on for now and stay out of his way. It’s probably too late to stop any financial harm but if you can stall the purchase then I would.
December 14, 2013 at 11:57 pm #119884cbslifeMemberYep, Bev, you’re right. And I’ve felt for a while that his behavior is very unpredictable. I’ve not been stirring the pot at all. In fact, I couldn’t be more detached.
I saw my therapist Friday and she said that I was handling this incredibly well and that I’m very smart. She told me to keep doing what I’m doing, limited conversation and eye contact, detach, and let him talk.
I just cannot believe that 1) he put that deposit down on the trailer without first knowing whether he’s going to jail or not and 2) that he didn’t tell me about it last night while he was telling me the story of a friend having a place to park a 5th wheel.
I have GOT TO write a book. Someone’s going to have to help me figure out how to do that. I don’t know where to start. But damn, if I wasn’t living through this, I would have never believed it.
December 15, 2013 at 12:04 am #119885cbslifeMemberOh, and yesterday he was supposed to meet with his attorney at 2:30 and H had to move work trucks around and get a ride back to the house to get his pickup so he could drive it to the meeting. He got all that done and got to the attorney’s office “just in time” . . . and the attorney stood him up!
He was pissed and texted me that day and told me about it. I texted him back and said “you know how the guy is, why didn’t you call before going to verify the meeting was still on”. He never texted back. I guess I shouldn’t have said that!
So now, the attorney is supposed to meet him on Sun. (tomorrow) at 2:30 (the attorney’s personal assistant made the appt.) So tomorrow should be a real joy!
Maybe he won’t come home tonight. Oh God, that would be such a blessing.
December 15, 2013 at 1:41 am #119886dianeParticipantI’m beginning to wonder if this attorney is doing all these delays so that your husband ends up home for Christmas. Maybe the strategy is to defocus the judge off the criminal and get him annoyed with the attorney so that the judge cuts the criminal a break.
December 15, 2013 at 1:46 am #119887lynng2ParticipantHaven’t read all the thread, but is it possible that he’s lying about all these appointments he was supposed to have with the attorney? I’m just wondering about an attorney who makes appointments on weekends and Sundays. Or one who stands up clients so regularly. That sounds fishy to me. Saying this from experience, because I know SJ avoids and delays a LOT by saying “The attorney didn’t…” when in actuality, he’d not even tried to contact the attorney. Or worse, stood up the attorney himself.
Just saying, if it’s coming from the SAs mouth, pretty strong chance it’s a lie to cover something else up. Or just a lie because he felt like it.
December 15, 2013 at 1:47 am #119888cbslifeMemberOh God, Diane.
I hope not.
