I definitely appreciate the normal good things in my life so much more than I used to. Everything that has happened has made the good things so much better.
I’ve got 4 good things going on in the recent moment…
1. Today is prom day so my afternoon will be devoted to hair, nails, makeup and hopefully avoidance of any tears (on my daughters part.) She went to prom two years ago and was unhappy with the stylists job on her hair so this time she picked out a “simple” style mom can do. Simple my ass!! If I had 5 hands maybe.
2. I’m having dinner Monday with Bonnie and For-Now and am really excited!
3. I have great tickets to see Pat Benatar tonight. She is awesome live.
4. And I got a new kitten. Who could possibly not be cheered up by a cute kitten? (and he is sooooo cute…. He could be a kitten model.. lol) Although my other cat is not at ALL cheery about his presence.
So what are some positive things going on in everyone else’s life?

My H is out of town at a volleyball tournament with my daughter ( no worries, she is with the team moms). He is there to watch.
My son has fractured the growth plate in his knee so I am here with him.Good part is son and I plan on getting out of the house and baking a three tiered cake ( decorating and all). He is into all sports and cooking is our bond. He wants to be a pastry chef or a professional baseball player! I figured we better start baking:)
I am happy to have H away and my sweet son to myself and our cake may turn out ??? .. It will be fun!
BevI have the entire day to myself and have no idea what to do
sah was out of town last week and has kids all day and night
any suggestions?
Had a girlfriend over for dinner last night, nice to connect w someone on the outside, and saw 21 jump street yesterday
I have no idea when I got so old that I recognize Hollywood remakes. It was hysterical. And can safely recommend it even at full price
xxooAnna – I LOVED the movie “Jeff who lives downstairs” and also “Salmon in the Yemen”. I’m a movie buff and really picky about what movies I watch.
I had the best chat with Kim the other night and Mon dinner won’t get here fast enough. Can’t wait to meet Kim and Bonnie!! Going to my daughters spring show for drill team tonight. H has the kids right now so he will be around as well. I have not brought up anything related to pa or recovery since Tues which is odd for me. I just don’t care right now. Not letting him bring it up tonight either if he should. I must say I like having him around on a need to be there basis with the kids. Loving the calm!!!

That is too funny… a baking baseball player. I love how kids have such big dreams. And we moms get to figure out to balance encouraging it while trying to nonchalantly encourage a backup plan. Where were you when my daughter wanted a triple layer mad hatter cake for her Alice in Wonderland sweet 16 party??? She insisted I make that too instead of paying a bakery. I am seeing a theme here.Is there an occasion for the cake or are you baking a huge cake for the sheer fun of it?

Is Johnny Depp in it? I have no suggestions for you other than a hot bath, good music and some wine. Do you have a local place to go get a massage at? My time is always full of kid stuff since I have 5 of them. When I have nothing to do I get stumped. My two 13 year olds each had a friend sleep over last night. I was up with them this morning. Then my H wanted me to fix his Zune before he went to his meeting. (my 6th child). I took my daughter to the mall for last minute crap. My other daughter has a DR appt this afternoon. Then prom pictures, dinner, concert. And my daughter just appeared for her hair to be done. Wish me luck and if I don’t come out alive, it was nice knowing y’all.For-Now,

in 21 There are cameos. I’ll leave it at that. Bc some were well placed. 😉so far I have purchased a new purse, a pair of shorts, an three new pair of shoes. Plan on breaking the bank today and yes there is a massage place. I think that is def in order!!!!!!

Let’s see…. I am turning in my notice at my job of 35 years (I started there when I was 14). It’s just a waitressing job and not a “real” job but always kept it part time and it has saved me through 2 lay-offs in the last 5 years. Oh yeah, and the money is crazy good!! My boyfriend has asked me to marry him. 🙂
However, before anyone flips, I obviously realize that it is too soon to even consider! (but I am in awe and humbled by his proposal).
This 5 hour drive each way every week is about to kill me (and my car!) He runs the marina and saves his get away time for our traveling which we have managed to do over the winter. Besides, I would much rather be together THERE then here at my Dad’s. God love him, (Dad), but he drives me INSANE. I can’t begin to tell you!! Darren hates me making the trips as much as I hate all the back and forth, but being apart is not an option. Therefore, I have decided to give up the commute and move down there. How bad can it be? A house on the hill overlooking Dale Hollow, one of the most beautiful lakes in the country! (and definitely the cleanest!)
I was offered a full time job working in the office which is attached to his home. (think pj’s- practically!!) We have 300 slips (ugh, that WORD) there and my job will be to keep the boat owners happy! (MY speciality) 🙂
Willow Grove Resort and Marina (google it!) has been my vacation spot (every other week) for the last 10 years so I will feel right at home!
If we continue to feel this way, then after one year, (Sept), I will seriously consider his proposal. I really DO love him and he is an all around GREAT guy! You can google him too, protective sister’s! (Darren Shell) He has published several books and has a website, etc. He is quite the story teller, especially history.
So….that’s that.My son Sam, (who some of you have met), is a fifth year student at Purdue University and is in his first year of pharmacy school. He will graduate with a doctorate degree and truly, is every mother’s dream!! We have an excellent relationship and in fact, I was out with him tonight AND his Dad (my ex, but not the SA) and his Dad’s wife!! Lol!!! We are all great friends and had a good time!!
Today would have been my Mom’s 76th BD, had she not passed away 10 years ago! (the anniversary of her death will be April 29th) I spent some quality time with Dad and one of my 3 brothers. We bought some new flowers for the cemetery. My Mom was a saint and I miss her dearly. But time has worked its magic and I have nothing but sweet thoughts and very happy memories!!

The concert was excellent.
But there were people in our seats. And then when we went to get the car from the valet, another couple was getting ready to get in it because they thought it was their car.
There was a lady, about 45, behind us who carrying on like a teenage girl. She was screaming and screaming till she was hoarse. Her beer must have been a lot stronger than mine. Or maybe it’s because I only had one. lol
Thanks Nap! She had a love/hate relationship with the prom.
