The King’s Speech is really good.

Ok, this is really an oldie, but a movie I can watch over and over is The Princess Bride. (I know! Old!)

Unfortunately, a lot of the movies I used to like would now be triggering movies for me (and probably for other partners.) So I’ll try to keep brainstorming for more movies that were good, but probably safe.

    Another good one: Super 8.

It was in theaters this summer, but I imagine it’s out on DVD anytime now. And if you grew up in the 70’s, you’ll like it even more… 🙂

Ok, I should have just made a list and posted all at once, but movies keep coming to me:

Office Space is one of my favorites. If you’ve ever worked in a cubicle, you’ll love it. 🙂

Movies I find that inspire me:
As good as it gets (“I just want a normal boyfriend”, Mother says “We all do, dear. But there’s no such thing”)
    Millions Irish/British
    The Station Agent
    Le Grand Voyage French
    Les Choristes French
    Departures Japanese
    The Elephant Man
Out of Africa (watch it just for the scene where Robert Redford washes Meryl Streep’s hair, and replay —or wash and repeat!)

Yes, the hair washing scene! Exquisite!

Also Clint Eastwood dancing with Meryl Streep in ‘The Bridges of Madison County’

Two strong ‘Woman’ movies are : Gone With The Wind and Cross Creek.

In ‘Gone With The Wind’ Scarlett O’Hara is both a survivor and such a bitch. Unfortunately she was also deluded about men and love, but her passion is unmatched.

‘Cross Creek’ is the story of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, who won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel, ‘The Yearling’. Find Cross Creek if you can–you’ll love it. She was an independent, strong, feisty woman. I love her.

‘Fried Green Tomatoes’ is fabulous if you are looking for the perfect way to get rid of an abusive SOB husband (think BBQ).

Fried Green Tomatoes!! Lol! A classic for sure!!

Let’s not forget Thelma and Louise!! Great chick flick!

Ms Lindy- I cried so hard on the Notebook- I couldn’t breathe!! Love it!! Watched it at least 20 times!!!!

And- to pull an old one off the shelf- I always loved The Breakfast Club!! Just a silly little movie but full of laughs!!

And more recently, I LOVED “Horrible Bosses”! LOL!! (I’ve had a few!!!) I laughed thru the whole dang thing!!! I liked it even better than The Hangover, which cracked me up too!!!

I have a book that recommends good ole chick flicks when you are disgusted with your man or on your way out the door of your relationship! Will check it out when I get home from Paradise 🙂 and see what she suggests!!

Speaking of which- Flora, did you ever read He’s Gone, You’re Back?? Comments?? JoAnn, if you haven’t read this and when you need a laugh or two- pick it up! It’s hilarious!!!
