Todays quip was she said to my H: You sure do ramble a lot. You say a whole lot of words but they don’t MEAN anything.
She spits these out once and a while.
One I posted somewhere else. Whenever he refers to his addiction as “it” (as in… it makes me do crazy things) She says: What is it? A mouse in your pocket? There is no it. There is just you.
Today we were discusing his behavior in the arguement the other day. He’d say: I know, I need to stop swearing at her.
She said: No… you WILL stop.
He said: And I need to stop yelling and screaming at her.
She said: No… you WILL stop. We all know what you “need” to do including you… you just don’t do it.My favorite was in one of our first few sessions, my H was whining and whining about all sorts of injustices he suffers. She said: My!!! You really do have that victim role mastered, don’t you?
He looked stricken. He was speechless. She said, “I’m no mamsy pamsy old lady. I’m going to tell you like it is.”
I’m suprised he kept going back. lol

November 24, 2011 at 2:23 am #22847zumbagirlMemberDoes she have a twin?
November 24, 2011 at 2:29 am #22848kimberelyMembershe’s amazing! I wish mine had been that direct……
November 24, 2011 at 2:40 am #22849ksondyParticipantWe got seriously lucky. I’ll have to keep adding new ones to the thread as she pops them out.
He constantly interupts me. So today she asked me a question and I started to answer and he started talking. Steering the conversation to something he wantednto discuss. She said, “Nice red herring but it isn’t going to work.”
So I continued answering her question and my H interupts again. She just looked at him and said: Why are you talking?
I had to seriously repress my desire to giggle.

November 24, 2011 at 2:51 am #22851ksondyParticipantI DO pay to watch her work! lol
November 24, 2011 at 3:17 am #22852lynngParticipantYes, I’m sure you do. WHY, I want to know, is this considered an acceptable thing to have to do? Money is hard to come by and costs hours and hours of our lives to earn. I mean, do those SAs need the attention THAT badly. Hey, maybe I’m onto something. Attention, in any form, whores, emotionally distraught partners, enraged partners, counselors, support groups. It’s like another addiction, to attention at any cost.
November 24, 2011 at 3:30 am #22853zumbagirlMemberOh Kim, keep posting in this thread. Just hearing these quips gives me some hope and joy.
November 24, 2011 at 4:13 am #22854ksondyParticipantThey do love their attention!!!
Julie – I figure I’ll add to it now and then when she pops out with one of these.
She is this itty bitty thing too. I’m awful with guessing ages but I’d put her in her 70’s somewhere. I don’t think my H would dare argue with her. She might reach over and smack him with her cane.
November 24, 2011 at 6:16 am #22855zumbagirlMemberThat visual makes me love her even more. 🙂
November 24, 2011 at 3:16 pm #22856dianeParticipantWow. It’s great you have someone who at least seems to be in your corner, Kim. What a great feeling that must be.
