ParticipantPlease welcome our newest Sister, lynnemac.
Lynnemac wrote in her profile:
Married to a sex addict for seven years. Third discovery in that time (yet to find out full extent of the problem). Yes – I believed his previous assurances given in couples counselling. Now we both realise it is an addiction. Desperate for the support of people who understand.
Welcome Lynnemac, I am so glad you found us. All of us Sisters DO understand. As you read through all of the topics and comments you will see the similarities and hopefully find support, comfort, resources and answers as well and the compassionate friendship of everyone here.
Let us know what you need lynnemac, we are all here for you.
Hugs and light for your journey. ~ JoAnn

ParticipantThank you for the welome. I’m still a bit numb after my last discovery one week ago. My husband of seven years left his Messenger open on my Laptop and, given past history, I couldn’t resist a look. Same stuff as last time. Sex chats, sending and receiving naked pictures and videos, requests to meet up (don’t yet know if he’s acted on these. I suspect he has, but no proof). This time it goes back at least 9 months (could be longer. I started to feel sick and gave up looking)
This time I kicked him out. Last time I had a discovery (about 3 years ago) we did couples counselling, so he knew what he stood to lose. I should have realised it was doomed when he emailed a naked pic of himself to another woman between sessions 1 and 2 (yes, on typing it, I do feel foolish for then forgiving and trying to find a way forward).
Complicating factor is that we have a 5-year-old son. I don’t want him to lose his father (but I don’t want him brought up by a sex addict who cannot prioritise us over his addiction).
Decisions to be made!
Thanks for the support,
LynneAugust 24, 2012 at 4:24 pm #49377nap

ParticipantLynne,
So sorry to hear your story. How heartbreaking for you and your son. It’s so difficult to know what to do when young children are involved.I’ve done the multiple discoveries with fake recovery, too. Glad to hear you are standing up for yourself. Take good of you and your son, and let him worry about himself for awhile.

ParticipantLynne,
So glad you found SOS. These are wonderful women to share with. I don’t think there’s one of us on here who hasn’t forgiven something they wish they hadn’t. When you want your marriage to work, you do what it takes. But do they? That’s always the magic question. We can’t do it alone.
So sorry you have been hurt again. Hugs and welcome to our little group of sisters.
