He got 270 days that can be served in jail or by wearing a ankle bracelet. That depends on what the probation dept decides when he goes to see them this afternoon.Right now he’s still in the courthouse paying over $1,000 in fines. Then he has to go to the Sheriff’s office to get his cheeks swabbed, finger printed and palm printed. I’m in the truck in the parking lot shaking like a leaf trying to type this on my phone.
He will still have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
His attorney lied about a few things but I was in the audience shaking my head no and staring at the judge.
I’ll tell you more when I get home. He’s going to be busy all day with all this shit.
I’m going to stop somewhere on the way home and have a stiff diet Pepsi.

Hoping for jail, too! Otherwise, he won’t be able to leave his house and that would depend on Claire being the one to take care of his errands, needs, food, etc…..and she would be in prison with him for 270 days. I hope he doesn’t tell the probation officer that he has a happy wonderful little wife at home who just can’t wait to help him through the at home, ankle bracelet part of it. He’s so delusional, he could say anything. I hope they call and confirm before they release him, if that’s what they are planning to do.
I suspect if he demonstrates no grasp of his heinous crime, they might throw him jail.
I’m horrified that the lawyer lied. What can be done here? Should something be done?
What’s really important is that his penis activities were named and made real as offences to society. We know they were offences to you, of course, but this other thing means his delusional world has been declared unacceptable and punishable by society.
His lawyer first tried to down play how many child pornagraphy images were found on the disc. He said there was only one or two and how they paled in comparison to the number of legal adult pornography pictures that were on the same discs, so he didn’t target little kids. The judge had in front of him the probation report that cited there were 255 child porn images total in all 3 discs. And the judge pointed that out to the attorney. The attorney still said well that amount still was nothing in comparison to the legal amount of adult porn on them. Ugh.
Also, the attorney said that he believed that while the report shows that his client not be around any children, he wanted and exception for his grandkids because he sees them on a regular basis. WRONG – Two have been born that he’s NEVER seen, not even a picture of him. Neither of his kids are even talking to him. They have even locked us out of their Facebook pages.
So, those are the two lies that I heard. But, I guess an attorney can say whatever he wants to get his client the best deal he can.
Basically as far as the 270 days goes. It will be via ankle bracelet as long as he meets all the parameters for it. For instance, he has to have a home phone so that they can track him. He wasn’t planing to get a home phone for his trailer, but I told he was now, because it’s only 20 buck a month for a basic plan. Besides, he needs to be able to use the fax machine for his business so he’ll need the phone line for that. He said, well I could have you fax stuff when I need to. I said, listen, you’re not thinking straight right now. Trust me when I tell you that you will not want to drive 25 min. one way to have me fax something for you when you can do it yourself from your place or go to the UPS store and have them do it.
He told me we will have a long talk when we get home about how much contact I want to have with him once he moves out. He is supposed to go pick up his 5th wheel trailer tomorrow, that will be an all day event as they have to put the slip in the bed of his truck first and that takes 3 hours at least, then install larger mirrors on the truck, then he will bring it here to the house. I’m hoping I can get him out of here by the end of the weekend, but not sure yet.
I need to come up with a list of boundaries for him to go by once he leaves. Like not coming over without calling first and preferably an hour in advance. Not entering the house when I’m not home, yada, yada.
I know, I’m all over the place with my thoughts. Sorry.

With this ankle bracelet, does he get to go anywhere he wants whenever he wants to? Or is it only home and work and he would expect you to do all of his other errands, running around for him?

I am not surprised that his attorney would like. Establishing the truth seems to be the last thing anyone tries to do in court (with apologies to Daisy). Pretty shameful when you see it in action, though. I don’t know if I will ever believe anything I read about a court case ever again after my experience with the courts and attorneys.255 child porn images? OMG- how are you dealing with that info, Claire?
And he wants an exception to his grandkids? Did he get it? I hope not- my goodness, I hope people understand that children are more likely to be molested or exploited by family members than anyone else. A good friend of mine had her son sexually exploited by her FIL- they found naked photos of him with the other child porn. The LAST children these guys should be around are ones that think they can trust “grandpa”,
Claire, thank you for sharing your journey with us. And keep it sharing. Sometimes, it’s so hard to believe what are lives are. I think we all need witnesses to help keep us grounded and sane- well, at least I know I do. Thank goodness they finally got the sentencing done. I think him living in an RV with an ankle bracelet sounds just about right- like something out of a TV crime show.
