I was coming home from town this afternoon and I heard a song on the radio that I could relate to. I’ve heard that song many a time, but today the words really hit me. It was “Broken Wing” by Martina McBride. Anyone else heard songs lately that they can relate to?

Guess which character I identified with?
And this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D97OxHZzBeQ
Maybe I’ll be in a better mood tomorrow.

I’ve been playing “You were a kindness” from The National’s HIgh Violet CD. It’s an ironic title. I particularly like the lyrics (you can google to get them), for example “there wasn’t any way for you to settle in, you made a slow disaster out of me”. Youtube has lots of clips of the band playing it.
But there’s lots of Leonard Cohen, flowing in my veins, too, Ann. I’m 55. I remember the old guys too.
hang in there, tomorrow is another day.
It will be better,

Right now, I’m feeling better. Must be the the connections of how we are relating. Here is another classic that is really resonating now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fk2prKnYnI
B.B. speaks to my soul.April 20, 2011 at 1:42 am #12153lyloParticipantOh my, Diane. Jennifer Warnes’ Famous Blue Raincoat is a mesmerizing interpretation of Leonard Cohen. I’m glad I didn’t pull it out when I was at my lowest…might not still be here!

D.April 21, 2011 at 5:47 am #12155sandyParticipantI related a lot to Eminem and Rhianna’s “Love the Way You Lie” last spring/summer when things fell apart. Now? A line from the Katy Perry “Fireworks” song sometimes. The part asking, do you ever feel like a plastic bag floating on the wind. Not uplifting at all. Need to connect to more happy songs.

Kind like the F U song by Ce-Lo Green. The words don’t all match, but its a happy f u!! Just what I need! -
