Has anyone tried those reverse cell phone lookups on the internet? Are they legit?

First, just try googling the number. Sometimes, people are on committees, etc, and their numbers show up. Sometimes, if the numbers are sex chats, etc., ads will come up.

March- that’s really good advice. I’ve done that, but I still have a few that I haven’t been able to get a name for.

I’ve used white pages reverse. Theres a small fee for each but some come up with a name and some don’t.

sometimes, if you google it in quotations you get different results. We should all chip in a nickel a month and get spokeo!

You can put in phone numbers and e-mail addresses and they will match it to a person. Some of there info is dated but phone numbers usually are correct. I typed in my number and my info was right.

I just looked it up- it’s about $15 for 3 months, it looks like. What a bargain!

Just a word to the wise about things like Spokeo and Intelius.. I have wasted a lot of money on them, and my PayPal account now looks like I’ve gone into the private eye business. My goal is to stop using the reverse phone things, period. But just a suggestion that has sometimes worked for me and saved me money and angst.. If you have access to your husband’s email account, sometimes looking through his contact list will show up the phone number you’re looking for, or with some accounts you can put the phone number in the ‘search email’ box, and it will sometimes bring up an email, if the sender has their phone number with their signature. I just hate that this is the kind of weird world they’ve thrown us into. xoxo

I use Spokeo. But sometimes if you can’t figure it out – then just dial *67 before the phone number to block your number and then you can see who picks up (or voicemail) – and just hang up.

I am curious if Spokeo is worth the money. I think Steve may have multiple E-mail accounts and I would like to get that info in case I have to PROVE he is still active in addictio rather than he said-she said.Do you have to know the person’s User Name, and then what is to stop them from making one up you have never heard of.
I am also curious as to what is the function of keystrokes installed on a computer. I read that it can by-pass any kind of spyware, and the person can read any e-mail they want to. It wouldn’t surprise me if Steve has done this when I was living with him. He always seemed to have info I wasn’t aware he knew, but was pretty cleve in revealing it.
    Any info anyone?

Spokeo only works if you have their phone number or e-mail. I tried 2 e-mails that I knew my DAH used but got nothing. He could have any number of e-mails but I don’t know them. If you look up an unknown phone number on spokeo itwill give a person’s name. Hope that helps. If anybody wants a phone number checked just post it and I will run it thru

Sharron, why would you have to prove Steve is active in his addiction? I’d like to think that once we split, none of that will matter.

A key logger does just THAT. Logs every keystroke. You can literally find out EVERY SINGLE keystroke that they make on the “bugged” computer. This gave me access to emails I didnt know he had, passwords, singles sites with all pertinent info to log on AS HIM!!! >:)

Yup, a key logger was the beginning of the end for me!!

What keylogger did you use? I’m kind of curious if my SAH/DAH is into porn or not. I don’t know the password to his computer, so that might be impossible to get something on it. Although he uses his Blackberry all the time. I wonder if I can get key logger on that?

    eBlaster is a key logger.

Key logger is just another word for spyware or computer monitoring software.

Deb, if he has admitted he has a problem and is serious about recovery you should definitely have the password to his computer and access to any and all of his accounts.

I had him give me the password to his computer and access to all accounts, I thought, but he just set up secret accounts. I wish I had known about keylogger programs.

Yup-there is always a way around everything. If you read any of the posts on Recovery Nation, you will see the addicts have done about everything to hide their addiction. Even if you have their password, they can hide downloads, porn sites, etc. under other names. You would have to go through every subject to find it-it can be hidden very well.

One word about eblaster….yes it is a key logger but since H and I work at the same place I have noticed that when he logs into our work site to access emails a separate box pops up for that password. Eblaster does not record that password for some reason. I’m not concerned with porn at work bc that would end his career as it has done to others with the spyware they have on it but I did notice that with eblaster. It never showed his password after the box popped up when he went to our work site for email from home. It’s about the one complaint I have about eblaster.
