It is so interesting reading old posts. Deedee my husband’s therapist said the opposite. He needed to withdraw from anything that gave him a rush. He needed to rewire his brain.

The reason your SAH is looking for a rush is because he is trying to feel something, anything, IMO. He is dead, dead, dead inside. He hasn’t nurtured his soul/spirit in some time. He feels no emotion in the way a normal person feels emotion. The answer is not to seek a rush in another way, but to peel back the layers of what got him to this place and unravel all of that, so he can feel again like a normal person feels. So he can begin living a full, rich life that is thoughtful and examined. That’s the goal. Find another therapist.

I had forgotten this thread. I remember being so damn angry at the stupidity of this whole thing that I resorted to sarcastic humor.

DeeDee was determined to stay with her H no matter what. She believed him. I hope she was right. She quit SOS because her H was making great progress and recommitted or something to the church….

call me skeptical and I would love to be wrong. If he does turn around and she is happy then I wish she would come back and post the success story. All to often, it just means that we bury all our feelings and go to a COSA meeting like a good little wife should.

I wish DeeDee the best and I hope her turd of a husband jumps out of a plane. 🙂
