Thanks!!April 26, 2011 at 12:55 am #12405floraParticipantwhen your lover is a liar, that is another good one. I will go through my list of ones I have read. Of course toxic guilt is better.
April 26, 2011 at 2:26 am #12406silver-liningParticipantUgh!!! They didn’t have Toxic Guilt listed! She asked if it could be Escaping Toxic Guilt? If so, she has to order it anyway so I told her I wanted to check with you (Flo) on the name! Also, didn’t have Intimacy Anorexia either! Boo!
April 26, 2011 at 3:13 am #12407napParticipantHi SL,
I’m not into reading SA or self help books anymore but I have a few favorites otherwise if you are interested:*The Glass Castle (so good, its a fast read and I don’t usually read fast)
*Open its the autobiography written by Andre Aggessi, (its so well written and hes a very interesting person esp his childhood, I was truly surprised how great it was)
In the Sanctuary of Outcast: A memoir by Neil White ( this book was a facinating read, this man goes to prison for a white collar crime, and the prison also is home to the last leprosy colony in the United States. He gets to know these people and learns so much from them and himself. Is a true story and an excellent read.
PS. * Both these were #1 New York Times best sellers
April 26, 2011 at 5:22 am #12408silver-liningParticipantyes, thank you Nap! I am not a picky reader and enjoy all kinds of books! I actually meant to get the Glass Castle! I saw where you girls were discussing on another thread! I didn’t read the posts because I knew I wanted to get the book! Dang it! Wish I would have remembered! I will definitely be going back though! Really need to look into a kindle (sp?) or nook….. With how much I love to read, I can see where one would come in handy! Thanks to you and Flora for your input! I hope to hear from the others as well. I am looking forward to a book filled summer!! 🙂
April 26, 2011 at 2:02 pm #12409floraParticipantHi Silver, it is escaping toxic guilt.
I do all my orders through amazon. They are typically cheaper in price and with a $25 order shipping is free. I still have not checked my book list yet, but will do it probably over the weekend.April 26, 2011 at 2:02 pm #12410floraParticipantWhat did you end up getting?
April 26, 2011 at 5:46 pm #12411silver-liningParticipantI bought Emotional Blackmail, Getting Unstuck, and The New Codependency. I know how everyone feels about the codependent thing, but I actually think I have “some” of those issues. The book looks interesting, anyway. Will post my reviews as I get them read. Thanks, again!
May 26, 2011 at 1:49 pm #12412hadj608ParticipantDeceived by Claudia Black ~ it really struck a chord with me. I am going to have to read it again because at times it was so emotional I had to put it down for a while. I’m stronger now and can get through it, I think! It does talk about the co- thing, but that doesn’t ring true to me so I take it with a grain of salt.
Going to start He’s gone your back next. Any other suggestions?
May 26, 2011 at 2:40 pm #12413joannParticipantAnd please Sisters, if you do order through Amazon please click the link on the ‘Books’ page. I do get a small commission for each of your orders.
You can bookmark the link too, it will will always give me credit.
Thanks.
