ParticipantHi Sisters,
As most of you know, I just celebrated my 53rd birthday. When I was young, age 21, I got a tattoo of a rose on my breast. Now its long-stemmed.

ParticipantHa Ha!!!! love it!
Maybe we should all get a sisters tattoo!! It could be like a secret code and proof of how incredible strong we actually are!

MemberNAP – You crack me up! I don’t have a rose tattoo on my breast but I know if I did, it would also look like yours does now! It’s depressing what age and gravity does to a body. I shiver at the thought of what would happen if I stood on my head! Suffocate?! 🙂

ParticipantI actually saw this on a greeting card yesterday. It was 2 elderly ladies talking to each other. I thought it was so cute I wanted to share and put my twist on it. Actually, I dont have any tattoos on my body, just warts and moles!

ParticipantI have several tattoos and love all but one because they each symbolize something that’s happened in my life. I’d hate to think how I’d mark this chapter….what picture would I use?? The one the truckers have on all of their mud flaps, you know, the profile of the naked chick, with a big red forbidden symbol on it? LOL

ParticipantI really like Heidi’s idea. I don’t have any tatoo’s, but I would be willing to get one, if it was to symbolize the sisterhood! 🙂

MemberI have one tatoo. I got it last summer on my right shoulder. My sister-in-law got a matching one with me. It was a very sweet bonding experience, and something I never thought I’d do (but then once the idea came up, I thought about it carefully for months.) Well, I didn’t tell SA about it ahead of time, and when I showed him, he acted like I murdered someone. This was summer 2010, when he was in full-acting-out-pretend-recovery. But he had to give me shit (excuse my French) about my tatoo??!! That being said, I would happily get another tatoo that symbolizes the sisterhood…perhaps the SOS “heart” logo, or the Chinese symbol for sister? But NAP, definitely not on a part of the body like the boobs, where things take…um…a different shape as gravity gets to work. 🙂

ParticipantNAP, that was hilarious!!!
I myself have 10 tats. I purposely chose areas on my body which are not prone to losing/gaining weight, or drooping too much. lol. I only regret one of them {most have special meaning, like dedications to people I lost on 9/11, dedication to my grandma, infertility fairie, dedication to my daughter’s twin, etc} but ONE is my astrological sign intertwined with my “things”. He has a matching one. As soon as I get the money, I’m going to change it a bit and write my initials with my best friend’s initials above and below it {she is also my daughter’s godmothers}. Luckily, she has the same sign as his!
