My ears have been whistling and buzzing for almost 5 months now. It did get a lot better and these past couple of days it has gotten worse again.
I am wondering if anyone else is suffering from Tinnitus and if the cause of it has been found.
I feel it could be related to my emotional state of mind? I have been crying buckets these past couple of days and experienced strong feelings of anger, which I might have been suppressing for some time.

    Hi Mortified,

Tinnitus can be caused by many things, one of the most common is medications, even over the counter ones. I know from personal experience that most stomach medications like Prilosec or Zantac are notorious for causing ringing in the ears.

Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do about it and most people just get used to it and don’t notice it after a while.

I have no doubt that your stress is a factor. Stress is a genuine killer. I am telling you that as a warning. Stress not only raises your blood pressure and increases your cholesterol levels, it also lowers your immune system, leaving you open to not only the little things like colds or the flu, but also to much more serious diseases like cancer.

I know you are under tremendous stress right now, and I only wish I could be there to help you, but somehow you need to find the strength to set some boundaries in order to reduce your stress level or find some way, some how to get out of there.

My thoughts are with you my dear. Stay safe and yet be strong for yourself.
