well, i have to put them on. the contractor for my new place is going too slowly, not doing what i’m asking, after telling me he would.
so i am starting to hire people to do the work. to go over his head so to speak and put more people in the house so it will get done.
he wasn’t taking care of it. so i need to.
i still don’t know how it will work out. how i’m going to manage paying for a house when i’m running out of money so that i can get a re-assesment when it’s done so i can get more added to my mortgage so that i can pay to get it done. it’s a balancing act. a nutty see saw. the chicken before the egg crazy circle of financial uncertainty.
i’m scared, but there is no time for that anymore. now i just need to act. to get it done and hope and pray it will work out alright.
i’ve got my sword out, and i’ll start swinging.
cross your fingers for me girls and hope it will work out.
Oh Lisa! I am so sorry this is happening to you! It sounds like you are strong and doing all you can. That’s all any of u s can do. Do our best. Sending strength, although you don’t sound like you need it with that sword comment!!LOL
Ugh! That is a balancing act alright. The uncertainty is unnerving. Here’s some good wishes for a quick finish and peace of mind. xo
You are being so strong, and it will work out. Can you document the expenses for your hiring the other subcontractors, and deduct it from the final draw of the general contractor? I would hate for you to be double billed for those parts of the work.

thank you so much for the encouragement sisters! so far so good. i hired painters who are working away. the contractor started listening to me when i made it clear that i would pay him when what i was asking for started getting done. its exhausting. i get quite triggered when i have to deal with it.
but…
on nov 30 caden and i are going to the netherlands and belgium!! i’ll get to spend two weeks with him. the first 9 days in amsterdam, my favourite city, and then in belgium. i’ll perform in the bimhuis, one of the best places to play the music i like to play. i’m really stoked about that. and then have a piece premiered in belgium.. see my friends. the break will be great. then back for a week with caden and DW, get more stuff started with the house. then 4 days in Florida with our beloved trish and joann.
could i be any luckier in that regard?!!
not so bad really, right? the stress IS incredible. and it feels like ‘oh when will this end??’ but it will end, this is temporary. a few months from now and things will have worked themselves out…
and we have all been through SO much. let’s us know how strong we really are.
Lisak – I am looking at flights from Bristol England to schiphol … I might get the day off work and come to bimhuis. Can’t afford it but then again – cant afford not to either … Oh gosh what to do?!
