ZG, Are you going to be able to make it to the retreat? I know for me its a week after my sisters wedding, which i will be driving 24 hours for over a four day weekend. Ugh. Will be tough. I don;t see being able to make this without suffering from burnout. But i had a thought that us New England girls (me you and lexie) could get together? And of course anyone else who is a shorter distanct and may not beable to make it to the midwest?

FloraSilver, i might have some comp time to use. With my health lately i am worried i will earn myself another trip to the hospital if i really push it two weekends in a row. But i will consider.
Flora, I was just going to talk about it with the SA, hopefully tonight! (I just need to make sure he is on board with the $$, and I also need him to hold down the fort at home with 2 teenagers and a few pets). I’ll post back asap once I know. I would love for as many of us to make it to the “main event” as possible (although poor Jeannette!). But if it doesn’t seem like a feasible plan, I love your idea! I know how much we ALL want to meet you and Lexie!! I did look into flights, and no lie, it may not be that much more (or even cheaper) than what I spend on gas right now for my horrible-gas-eating-Mom-SUV. Anyway, I’ll be back on once I know!!
Flora, I’m going to Indiana! I’m excited, but I will also be sad if you and/or Lexie can’t be there. I also understand, given your sister’s wedding!! I could never do two weekends in a row lie that. If nothing else, I think we can all be cheered by the fact that this will be the first of many future slumber parties.

I’d be crazy if I wasn’t. 🙂There is an event at my son’s boarding school that I just found out about that’s listed as SATURDAY the 27th (which is not a Saturday, but a Tuesday) and now, I don’t know if they meant the 1st of October or the 24th or Tuesday the 27th.

Update for those who are flying: has anyone booked their flights yet? I’m wondering what time to book my return flight on Sunday. There are afternoon and evening flights. I’m sure it would be easiest if we made one trip back to the airport. I don’t mind hanging around there if I need to!! (That’s what the Kindle is for!) Ok, awaiting your replies!! :))

It’s official: my flights are booked!! Can’t wait!! I’m so excited to meet so many of you. I’m a little nervous about SA manning the fort with the busy lives of teenagers (he can be a bit checked out, sometimes). But it’s time for him to step in and for me not to be a control-freak. Baby steps! 🙂 Also, I’m flying out on the 29th, the day after my dreaded-20 year-wedding anniversary. Have the kleenex ready! 🙂

Just a FYI, the only thing I am doing is finally cleaning my house (which really needs it). b,-trayed and silver-lining are really the ones who are coordinating and communicating the rest. I don’t want anyone to think this is a burden, I am excited to meet each and everyone of you and hope we have a great weekend. A big thanks to b,-trayed & silver-lining for doing the organizing and work with all of you on this.
And thanks for making me clean my house!hi ladies i will be driving in so let me know if i can bring extra blankets, pillows, what ever. i think i have a few air beds too. also if i can pick up anyone along the way let me know. my phone and info are in my profile.

I will touch base with you closer to the event, to let you know who is coming and when the first people are arriving. Again, we will handle the food…Silver Lining and I will plan the menu and she is picking it all up at the store, at least this is the tentative plan.JoAnn just sent me some funny, inspiring DVD’s to preview. I will watch them and see what will fit best! She is so kind! Ella spoke with me about a potential group activity if she comes, so it should be great. I know Silver Lining has got her wheels a churnin’. She is an ideas person with a ton of energy! Anyway, take care and talk with you soon.
